Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Message is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness and sore shoulders.
Is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective. Deep Tissue Massage uses many of the same movements and technique as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as Adhesions).
Deep Tissue Massage works by physically breaking down adhesions, such as chronic muscle tension or injury in muscles, tendons and ligaments, to relive pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles.
