What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a FDA-approved dermal filler made of a biodegradable, non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA). Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in all living
organisms and provides volume and fullness to the skin.
How Does Restylane® Work?
Since Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid gel that closely resembles the body’s own hyaluronic acid, the gel produces volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothes out the skin. This naturally occurring substance provides volume and fullness to your skin.
During treatment, Restylane® is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. When enhancing lips or facial contours, Restylane® adds volume and shape to the treated area. Restylane® now has lidocaine (a local anesthetic) in it for increased comfort during treatment.
Restylane® sessions in our Miami office are quick and easy. The treatment can be carried out immediately and generally takes about 30 minutes. Most of our clients find the injections relatively painless. However, a topical anesthetic can be applied prior to your procedure. When enhancing the lips area many clients request a local anesthetic.
